Hello all,

I'm on the last item on the AOS paper work!!!! Can anyone give me suggestion on how to go about tranalating my wifes birth certificate?

Does it have to be word for word....is there someone we can hire?

Thanks

Hey,

I'm sure when you both did the K-1 visa, they did ask for birth cert translation as well?? Did you not do that? If you did, you can use that same particular birth cert translation. What I did was I translated it myself and have it certified by a certified lawyer/translator. I'm sure you can find a translator here that could do it and it's best to be certified, in my opinion.

Good luck!

you or a third party can translate and certify that is a accurate translation and they are fluent in English and Spanish

just at the end adds:

Translator’s Certification

I [xxx name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and Spanish languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled birth certif.

I translated my birth certificate through some website. i scanned my document and paid through credit card and i picked up from their office. Especially if its Spanish language there are tons of translating agencies they can do it for cheap, too.
