Dave, you waded in here with a comment that people who aren't posting an opinion on the Patriot Act in this thread are avoiding doing so for purely partisan reasons. It doesn't take much thought to realize that you are making a fairly wide assumption here that is just somewhat disingenuous.

What is totally disingenuous however, is that you aren't asking for opinions, you're demanding them on the basis that if they are not provided that it will somehow prove your dubious allegation.

Do you have another or any other explanation for your opinion on the Patriot Act then and now? It's not a trick question and it's odd how to have loads of time to argue with me but not on the topic at hand.

My wide assumption went unchallenged so it stands. It's just that simple.

You have a unique talent for being argumentative without ever discussing most issues on any given thread.

Firstly, your say-so is not truth - that's your problem right there.

Secondly, as I mentioned previously, I under no obligation to explain anything to you; and you trying to cynically manipulate me into playing your game simply isn't going to work.

Fact is, I'd rather be obstructive than give you the satisfaction of thinking that I care what you believe. I don't.

You mean I missed all the valiant posters who vigoriously defended their views?

It's late so I'll give up on this one.

I mean that silence does not mean complicity.

You seem to believe that it does and that people must justify themselves to your satisfaction to avoid accusations of partisan bias.

Still think there's a difference between the Republicans and Democrats?

ding ding ding.... we have a winner

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Is this the part where I point out you joined VJ in 2008 and thus were not privy to the intense dislike expounded here in this hallowed forum regarding the Patriot Act, enacted by the way in... Drum roll please!
