Japanese Police Cert. Sealed ???

Hi there,

If any of you have had experience with bringing a Japanese police certificate to an interview, your info would be greatly appreciated.

I have received all of my police certificates from multiple countries. The one from Japan, however, is sealed with a statement "to be opened by the addressee only". And the addressee is "the authorities concerned, united States of America"

My questions are:

1. Should I be concerned with issues of translation. I assume it's in English, since the envelop is- but I'm just trying to make sure.

2. I've read that I'm supposed to bring a copy of police records along with the original- which of course is impossible if it's sealed.

Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Mine came in Japanese with an English translation on the bottom

Take it to your interview sealed and they can make a copy after they open it
