Ha! Well that's encouraging to hear!

I've been gradually adding things to my folder over the past month or so...it weighs about five pounds now, I'd guess. I DID pick the perfect type of folder for my materials though...couldn't be happier with it. I'm not sure if I'll use Post-It tags on each individual document or not. I think I've got them all in the right sequence.

Do you recall what order they asked for your documents in?

What sort of proof of bonafide did you have?

Thanks a ton for your review...not to mention your vote of confidence!

We brought a massive folder, too, with a handle on it. I was worried my carryon would be overweight once I added it to my bag. :) We put everything into sections with labelled tabs so we could find things quickly if asked for them, and that seemed to work well.

I don't recall which documents they asked for exactly since it was mostly a blur, but they didn't ask for very many things (of course we didn't do electronic processing.) At the first window we went to she asked for the interview letter, Xpresspost envelope, and the medical envelope (the must-haves) and then asked for an updated police certificate which my husband didn't have, and that didn't seem to be a problem. She also brought out my husband's birth certificate and our marriage certificate, and I'm assuming she did that when she would have asked for the originals from someone who did electronic processing. I can't recall if this happened before or after she asked for the Xpresspost and medical, but I think before. At the interview portion after fingerprinting, I don't think he asked for anything besides documentation from previous visas.

As for proof of bona fide, with the I-130 we had submitted like 10-20 photocopies of photos of us, which I could see the interviewer thumbing through, and we also had printed out shared cell phone bill, shared bank account, and receipts from flights I took to visit my husband. We took extras with us (cards and mail and whatnot), but he didn't ask for anything else.

fifo, a big congrats on your approval!

And if you don't mind me asking, did they need another I-864? Or are they still accepting 2008 taxes? Thanks!!

Thanks! They accepted our I-864 just fine. I took my W-2 from 2009 just to be safe, but they didn't ask for it. I think I saw the interviewer refer to my 2008 W-2 from the I-864 packet we'd submitted (though I was looking at it upside down. :) )

I'm also a bit concerned to hear about the possibility of not receiving the visa when the CO stated (particularly since it sounds like you have little recourse if it doesn't arrive when expected) but I'm hoping the fact that the CO said next week means it will be so. I guess we'll see!

Thank you :)

Did you get any of your original documents back? Or did the first lady keep the photocopy and the original? Just curious...

I just went through all my documents and methodically reorganized them according to Sdhiman's list. I also put Post-It tags on all of them, just in case. I'm DEEPLY comforted by your review, Sdhiman...you have no idea! I've gone from being "pretty sure" I have everything I need to being downright confident that I do. I've got extra copies of most things as well.

Thanks again!

I'll do the same and put the "extras" (other passport, previous Canadian passport to show how long I lived overseas, etc., husband birth certificate) in the back of my folder.

Thanks Sdhiman :)

That's what I did too. :P

I've got a file pocket for the primary docs, a pocket for bona fides, a pocket for copies, a pocket for the X-ray, a pocket for the envelope, and a couple mini-pockets for my passport pics. I got a couple extras taken today, since my other ones had a slight scuff from a paperclip on them.
