No, I see government as inherently inefficient, and a cold, cruel #######. Sometimes you need a cold, cruel #######, to keep the peace, and to wage war.

By the way, without governments, you wouldn't have all those nasty corporations you hate so much. Corporations are legal entities, after all! Don't like them? Change the laws under which they are formed.

You're kidding yourself if you think that corporations are immune to bureaucratic inefficiency. Part of the whole health care reform debate centered around the fact that public insurance (see Medicare) can run at a far more efficient level than private insurance.

Now who's being naive here Bill . You know very well that K Street has the whole game sewn up. The laws exist to protect their interests, not ours.

Hence the problem. But the issues are even deeper that whether or not Joe Senator, or Ken Congressman, can be bought with a steak dinner and a round of golf. Corporations are quasi-governmental agencies. One of the problems, and inherent inefficiencies of the regulatory system, is that sooner or later, these oversight agencies develop a client relationship with the very entities that they are supposed to regulate. Add to that a revolving door policy between staff and industry, then you have the current situation.

There is a difference between small business and big business. We have to use organizations like FIB just like the rest of small groups and individuals use AARP, the Sierra Club, et cetera, with about the same member dissatisfaction with our leadership as everybody else.

You miss the point by letting your prejudices get in the way. Read my response to Scandal.

It took me a few moments to look it up... I think you mean NFIB?

Best of luck Bill. I hope you little Davids can slay the great Goliaths
