EAD approved before AOS interview

Has anyone gotten their EAD approved before their AOS interview? Im just wondering if the same background checks are done for EAD. Im thinking if EAD gets approved first with all the background checks done, that I might now have to worry about delay in getting GC after an AOS approval? Does that make sense. Just been hearing some stories about GC wait times because on delays for background checks, even though AOS was approved.

Most of the time the EAD will come first. That is the reason you file for EAD is that you want to work while you wait for the change of status.

Yep as SJ says I just got my EAD last week now I am waiting for the interview date.

Well, should receive EAD before AOS. I had my interview yesterday and have not had my EAD even touched for ages.

Not that I'm complaining because getting AOS so soon is great, but it just sucks paying almost $200 for nothing.
