Canadian bank account - US address

For those who have already moved to the US and kept their Canadian bank accounts, were you able to change your address (with the bank) to a US address? If you have a chequing account, do they allow printing of a US address on a Canadian cheque? And when you ordered cheques, did the bank mail the cheques to your US address?

I kept my TD Canada Trust account open and changed my address with the bank. No problems at all. They send me my statements to my US address. I didn't bother to change the cheques though so I just cross through the address on the cheque and write in the American one if I use a cheque on that account. I so seldom write cheques on that account - I usually use the Mastercard that I have associated with that account and then just transfer the money from the account online to pay the MC bill. That was the easiest. Go in and talk with someone at your bank. Explain to them what you want to do and ask them to help you set up the easiest process for you to do so. If they can't do it, they will tell you.

Oh, okay. Thank you. I'll give them a call because most of my bank accounts are through online banking. There's no local brick and mortar bank branch here for Citibank and HSBC.
