Weekends?

Does anyone ever get any info from the service centers on the weekends? I would be very happy with a NOA1, another member sent their package the same day as me to the same service center and already has their NOA1...Im still waiting...Am I just driving myself crazy checking my e-mail or is it possible?

Hi. You won't get anything in your email for an NOA1. You need to get the hard copy first. That is typically taking up to 4 weeks now. So check your mailbox every day! Then you can register online to see if progress is made on your case, but you need the receipt number on the hard copy to do so.

And yes, USCIS does work on Saturdays.

I called the USCIS and talked to a representative who gave me my receipt number over the phone. I had to be a little creative to do this.

When calling, there is a prompt that's for people who have been waiting for 30 day's or more for the NOA1. Follow the entire prompt until you get to a customer service representative.

I told them that I was out of town and asked a friend to mail my petition for me while I was gone 30 day's ago. I said I wasn't sure if they did it or not, I think they might have forgot and sent it later. I just needed to make sure you've got it.

The rep. was very nice, told me when they received it, then he said "well I can give you the receipt number now" he asked me a few questions.. Petitioner Name, Birth date, Beneficiary Name, Birth date, and then gave it to me. I was able to sign up online for status e-mails and checks, got the NOA1 e-mail in 1 week.

This might not work for everyone, it did for me.

Thats classic. Someone that got around the evasive USCIS. We should all bow to you! You missed out on part of the ...Now if only we can find a way to adapt it an get updates on our approvals. It would be

Yeah, they do work, according to our update on USCIS, we got touched on Saturday July 15th, before getting our NOA1 on the 18th. Just be a little bit patient, you will get it soon
