nvm, i double checked the I-94 and it says within the 90 days.

Heya, this thread might help your concerns: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/285738-quick-question/ No set timeline as long as you're married before the 90 days. Just as long as you don't try to cross the border, you're good!

I'm back from the dead, everyone. I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas. I've been working my #### off with UPS delivering packages the past month, but I'll hopefully be working in a hospital (a lot warmer of an environment) soon. I've missed your perverted ways, poacher, and reading everyone's news updates, but I see everyone's been as quiet as I have.

Happy New Years, Feb crew! It's almost been a full year since we started this mess! We shall overcome!

Before Journey:

Met online in 2002 as friends. Fell in love in 2005. Got engaged in 2010.

K-1 Journey, January 2010-July 2010:

NOA1: January 29. RFE: April 21. NOA2: June 4. Interview: July 15. Visa in hand: July 20. POE: July 22.

July 24, 2010: Married in front of 150 of our loved ones on a beautiful, sunny day. Living happily ever after and oh so thankful that 5 years of a long distance relationship and 7 months of a visa process is condensed into one line.

Wedding pictures! Because I'm shameless. http://s956.photobucket.com/albums/ae47/AmeriDaneWedding/

Adjustment of Status Journey, January 2011-March 2011:

January 25: NOA1 for AOS and EAD. Feb 5: Bio appointment received. Feb 7: RFE. Feb 11: Sent RFE response. Feb 23: AOS transfered to CSC. Feb 25: Biometrics. March 11: EAD approved! March 19: Received EAD. March 21: AOS approved! March 25: GC in hand!

And we'll live happily ever after.. for the next 2 years, anyway.

QUESTIONS:

1.Payment(s) as required by USCIS. Be sure to include the payment for both the I-485 and the biometrics fee*. Use a personal check so you can track the payment. Money Orders are also accepted.

- When sending a money order do we simply put USCIS or their official full name?

- And I believe the new fee for the packet is $1,070

Make it out to U.S Department of Homeland Security. They are very picky as to how you write it. Just as I wrote it for you is how it's done.

The new fee is 1070, which includes the biometrics fee

5.K-1 Visa Holders: Submit Copy of NOA2 "Approval" for I-129F **

- Is this the letter we received from NVC stating that our packet has been sent to the appropriate visa issuing location.

It is printed on plain white paper, addressed to Joe (the petitioner) that has my EAC# and MTL# on it from the Bureau of Consular Affairs?

No. It is the I 797C that Joe would of gotten in the mail. Looks like your NOA1.

6.Copy of the non US Citizen Spouses valid I-94 (front and back copies)

- What exactly is the i-94? Is that the acceptance paper we got from the final interviewer after receiving the verbal "Congrats" that tells us about the frequently asked questions after receiving the K1 visa?

No, they stapled that in your passport the day you POE'd at the border. It is a small white card. It has an expiry day on it as well.

11.I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination.

- Does this mean because I've already had a medical, I can simply submit a copy of my medical receipt indicating the date of my physical?

If you passed then all you need is the vaccination chart that the Dr. gave you when you were finished your medical. But just send a copy, not your original.

We're trying to fill out the packet and submit it for the first week of January as my visa expires on Feb 5. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Les, on the I-765 (EAD) it asks for USCIS Office. Am I putting Chicago lockbox address or the Baltimore Maryland address (since that is our local USCIS)?

You put in the one closest to your residence. I think you can go to USCIS & it has a "find your local USCIS office" somewhere in their website.

Happy New Year to all of us. I hope everyone has a great one. Veka tells me I do. LOL.

Since the snow and ice storm started yesterday here in NC, all Veka does is just stare through the window. If it doesn't warm up here soon I may have to let her in.

I guess this group is falling apart. Except for the unfortunate one, we are all busy with our new spouses. That includes me. If I have the time and can think of an appropriate name for us deviants, I will start a thread over in the AOS forums. We are not just a random group.

On Saturday, Veka received her biometrics appointment letter for Jan. 31. Luckily for us the local USCIS office takes walk-in appointments. We walked in with her appointment letter and were able to do it. Now, here is where I got in trouble for the next two years. I told Veka that it was just fingerprinting. Oh, was I so wrong. We went in the morning and I did not give her time to put on her "war paint" and dress to the hilt. I wanted to get over there and done before the ice hit. Well, after the fingerprints the also take your picture, the one to be used on her green card. Personally Veka is always a smokinhotkova, but she said that she looked liked "sh!t." Now for the next two years she will have a green card with a bad picture of her. Somehow it is my fault, as always. I did crack up everyone in the biometrics area when they said she could not come back and take another picture, after she put on her war paint. She said a few cuss words in Russian, directed at me of course. I told everyone there she just said "I love you." Laughter filled the room, because it was obvious to everyone that she was not pleased with her green card photo. Looks like I'm back to "touching myself."

Now taking suggestions for our new thread name for AOS.

1. Deviant society

2. Pole dancers

3. Good touches (I know that one is weak)

4. Midget and donkey

5. Thong and beer group

Just a couple I thought of.

Happy New Year to Everyone.

Still 2 months out from Vanessa's interview.

Damn this system...

This is all so old now and pretty damn discouraging on so many levels. We feel royally screwed over alot of times. I handle it just fine by keeping distracted. Not so easy for Vanessa a lot of the time, but we make due. Just ready for March to get here and then the month after that for her to finally come home.

Glad all is going well with everyone else though! There's a lot of positive out of Feb. 2010 filers!

Paul and Vanessa, we have not forgotten about you. That still sucks that y'all are waiting for the interview. You can see the finish line now. At least that is good. I hope everything goes smoothly the rest of your journey. Just count the days. The midget and donkey can make the time pass faster.

Lohninck, Leslie, Cdnangel, Solmarc, UK, come up for air. I will get back to posting more of Veka's antics soon. It is always entertaining living with her. Trust me.

All's quiet here, eh folks? We sent in our AOS today, finally! $30 with USPS express to send a big #### padded envelope weighing 1 pound and 3 oz in pure paper. Sure hope they enjoy going through that ####### when they get it at noon tomorrow. It took us a while to send it due to monetary issues, but we're good now. Just gonna have to live off of ramen noodles until Peter gets his EAD ;) nah, it's not that bad at all, especially since we're living with my parents in their finished basement apartment until we're on our feet.

How's everyone doing? Poacher, you were in my dream last night. You were talking about shooting while playing blackjack, so I know for a fact it was you, although there were no thongs involved. Stay out of my dreams, man, or Peter's gonna start to get suspicious.

It's a big weight off our shoulder to get the forms out. Just have to wait and see if they find anything wrong with it or wait for our bio appointment. I believe our application will be headed to Cherry Hill since it's closer than Newark, but we'll see. Either way, the wait doesn't look too long and it's not going to be nearly as bad since Peter's here.

Heyas all, Joe and I are well. Thankfully the stress of moving to the US, rushing to get married, dealing with Thanksgiving and then Christmas and then New Years....right now, I don't want to go visit anyone or talk to any family for a while. *sigh*

I'm still putting together my AOS/EAD packet. Need to get passport photos done...again. With the holidays and the expenses, we'll be submitting at the end of March. Hopefully I don't get in any kind of serious ####### because my i-94 expires on Feb 5.

I also just read my SSN application documents and apparently I cannot submit them unless my i-94 is unexpired, but by the time I get it to them it will be expired. So what's the point?! HEHE.

So I'll just play the typical army wife and pudder around our house cleaning and doing laundry until USCIS bounces me back some updated documents.

Hope everyone out there is doing well and my thoughts are with you Paul and Van.

Lohninck, I'm glad to know I'm still in your dreams. Yeah baby.LOL. It had to have been me. I'm still killing stuff. Our four month long deer season ended on Jan. 1st. Ducks and geese are still in for two more weeks. Last Saturday we had a good shoot. Not great, but good. Three of us killed 10 ducks and 2 geese. Before I left, the smokinthotkova told me to take care of myself. It was cold that morning, about 20 degrees. OK, cold for us southerners. Anyway, we rode the four wheelers about a mile, then had to walk about 500 yards to the back end of a small lake. It was dark, my face was cold from the wind on the four wheeler. I tore my face up in the dark on a greenbrier vine. My face was cold enough it didn't hurt bad, but once it got light my buddies said it did not look too good. We hunted and then got out of there. When I got back to my truck I looked in the mirror. UhOh. My ear was covered in blood, I had two gashes on my check about 6 inches long and two smaller ones, all covered in dried blood. They never hurt because of the cold. I drove home and Veka came out of the house to say hello to my friends and to see what we shot. Boy, did I get an earful. "I told you to take care, what is this on your face." I tried to explain to her that a bear did it. I had her believing that for about 10 seconds, then she saw me laughing. Then I told her the truth. Then she opened my truck and produced a flashlight. Yes, dear, I did not take it with me, I left it in the truck. I'm an idiot. I liked the bear story over losing to the briars.

I got an RFE on her AOS last week. I did not send last years taxes. I sent the 07 and 08, but not 09. I printed that out and sent it to them yesterday. Biometrics are done and hopefully EAD will come in the mail soon. We have started on her resume' already and hope to have that finished this weekend.

I made the smokinhotkova happy this morning. My boss called me and told me that they are sending me and Veka to the US Virgin Islands for a week at the end of March. Bikini shopping time. Sucks to be me. I have told my boss that Veka can't leave US territory until she has her greencard, that is why we are Virgin Island people and not Dominican, Cozumel, Cancun, Caymans, etc. Hopefully she will have her greencard by then, but it is not needed for this trip.
