Oh good! Better than nothing! Good luck on the next bit, I'm sure POE will be a piece of cake.

Before Journey:

Met online in 2002 as friends. Fell in love in 2005. Got engaged in 2010.

K-1 Journey, January 2010-July 2010:

NOA1: January 29. RFE: April 21. NOA2: June 4. Interview: July 15. Visa in hand: July 20. POE: July 22.

July 24, 2010: Married in front of 150 of our loved ones on a beautiful, sunny day. Living happily ever after and oh so thankful that 5 years of a long distance relationship and 7 months of a visa process is condensed into one line.

Wedding pictures! Because I'm shameless. http://s956.photobucket.com/albums/ae47/AmeriDaneWedding/

Adjustment of Status Journey, January 2011-March 2011:

January 25: NOA1 for AOS and EAD. Feb 5: Bio appointment received. Feb 7: RFE. Feb 11: Sent RFE response. Feb 23: AOS transfered to CSC. Feb 25: Biometrics. March 11: EAD approved! March 19: Received EAD. March 21: AOS approved! March 25: GC in hand!

And we'll live happily ever after.. for the next 2 years, anyway.

That's great news! Woot!

Well it's been confirmed, I am going to Montreal solo. Unfortunately Joe is unable to take leave during that time. If I get my visa in hand by the 29th, he will be able to swing up and get me and bring me down in a weekend before work starts on Monday. Thanks to the US Army, things have been far too stressful during this last month for us. Hopefully by months end we can relax and enjoy some time together.

Our Timeline:

11/26/1992 - Met in NYC (Drum & Bugle Corps) and dated for 2yrs

11/30/2009 - Reunited after 15yrs - Feb19 got engaged!

ugh tell me about it! thankfully, his "tour" days are over. so the stress about that isn't an issue. it's the delicate nature of his current assignment that stresses me out. but, Joe's got big enough shoulders to carry that weight, he's a tough guy. I just worry about him, ya know?

well, 1 week before I drive to Montreal with my Dad (my roadtrip buddy). I sometimes get into panic mode where I think about the interview and then my teeth start chattering and my knees feel weak. But after I take a few deep breaths it seems to fade. So I'll just take a lot of deep breaths between now and then :P

Hey guys....a quick question...

It is to my understanding that I will have to fill out a number of forms for packet 3?, one of them being form DS-230 Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration. Question #7 asks for my nationality. If you are dual, you indiacte that you are. I have dual citizenship with the United Kingdom (my Father is British, and I was born in Canada), but have never put this down on any previous forms that I have sent to USCIS (except on a Biographical form regarding my parents place of birth). I currently hold a Canadian passport. It just makes me nervous to be adding more information about myself on these forms. What would happen if I just said I was Canadian and didn't mention the UK citizenship? And why do they need this info anyway?

No word yet on Montreal recieving our paperwork, but should hear something by mid November I'm guessing, just want all this over with all ready!!! lol

LeslienScott....you must be bouncing off the walls!!!!! YAY for you! I can't wait to feel that same excitement of finally moving! Good luck!

Bri...So happy you are closing in on your interview day! It will go great & I know Joe will be thinking of you when you are there.

Yay Solmarc!!!!!! Wonderful news!!!!!

Your wedding is pretty soon. I would just wait, then you don't have to go twice. But if anyone else wants to give a different opinion, please do since I'm not quite at that stage yet.

I would be bouncing more if I actually could get the visa in my hand!!! It's been 24 days since my interview & still no visa. I am livid. Took 2 wks for MTL to issue it & now Canada Post is acting like the tools that they are. But...POE is in 10 days!

Good luck with your paperwork. Sorry I don't know the answer to your question!

Cndangel, relax for your interview. It is just a formality. Watch out for the midget. No one has seen him for a while. He got mad at Solmarc when she ran out of rum.

Solmarc, glad you made it. Seriously, I am. You are going to miss the tropics come January and February though. As for SSN, if you don't want to go there twice, I would wait until after your wedding. That is of course if you are going to take your husbands last name. Do not wait too long though. If your I-94 is too close to experation date there is some kind of hold up. We did Veka's early and had it in the mail in less then a week.

Leslie, you are getting closer. I wish your postal service would hurry and get it to you. That would be one less worry. I wonder why the US consulate their does not use Fedex or another courier service. In Ukraine and a lot of other countries you are required to pay for this service. Oh, I forgot, some countries mail service is non-existent, that is why they require for people to pay for Fedex. I would still think they would use a courier for security concerns. Anyway, I hope you get it soon.

I am buying Veka a car this week. Now, I will be worried everyday that I am travelling. Wondering what she is about to run into. I know that I have joked about the vacuum cleaner, but I received a phone call yesterday afternoon. I have one of those cyclone cleaners with the see-through containers that catches all of the dirt. Well, Veka wanted to take it off and empty it. I tried to explain it to her and I thought she understood it. 30 minutes later I get a phone call back, "cleaner is broken, dirt is everywhere!!!!" She was crying and hysterical. I called my neighbor, he went over and found the problem. Veka tried to take the container off, got it off partway, tried to put it back on. She thought she had it on. NOPE. She turned on the vacuum and she got a funnel cloud of dirt to come out. We were laughing about it at 9pm on the phone, but a few hours earlier it was a crisis. Note to self, empty container before I go out of town.

Have a great day people.

Poacher, I love your stories! Veka sounds like my kinda girl. Good luck car shopping! Montreal used to do the XpressPost envelope thing, where we buy it & bring it with us to the interview & they put everything in it & mail it. As of Oct. 1st, they now use DHL & they pay for it. M.F's. Oh well. I got it in the mail today. Filed a complaint with Canada Post & should get our $ back.:dance::dance::dance:
