How can a plug-in get 93 MPG? That sounds like liberal math to me. A plug-in gets power from the grid and thus doesn't burn gas. It get's infinite miles to the gallon. If you want to try and calculate how much fuel was burned to create that power on the grid, the answer isn't in gallons of unleaded gasoline.

Or is this talking about cars that plug in to recharge batteries but still have internal combustion engines for when the batteries run low? If that is the case, the article is even more dishonest, since the MPG rating depends on how far you go. If you go a short distance and run just from the batteries, the MPG is infinite. If you go farther and have to burn some gasoline, the MPG goes down. As you go farther, the battery charge from the wall begins to not matter and the MPG approaches that of a normal hybrid.
