Hi Everyone,

Wow...What a surprise that one of my old threads have been dug up again...

I was looking for this one for awhile, and somehow it got lost amongst the other threads....

Anyways, I'm glad that someone (thanks, Sdw) found it again...

And yes, I'm still interested in a VJ in-person get together in NYS/ON....

Glad to see that there are so many of you still interested in meeting, too! :)

And now that the weather is warmer, how about if we plan for a meeting, instead of just talking about it when the weather is snowy and cold?

I was thinking....How about Niagara Falls State Park (on the American Side, Niagara Falls, NY), sometime in July?

Niagara Falls State Park is easily accessible on both sides of the border, and is a nice and memorable place to visit.

And yes, at this time of the year, there are fireworks too..So that should be fun to watch too....

How about on one of the weekends (Sunday perhaps?..)....

Let's see...The Sundays in July are as follows:

-July 4 (I probably wouldn't do this weekend, as it's probably busy there for the 4th of July weekend)

-July 11

-July 18

-July 25

Which date in July and location do you prefer?

We can work out the finer details later, but at least if we can narrow down a place and a date, that's a start...

As well, if you have any further ideas, suggestions, etc. that would help too...Thanks

What do you all think? Let's make this VJ get-together into a reality!

Ant

P.S. All VJers and their families are welcome to attend! Hope to see you all there...:)

Thanks for your replies....:)

OBX-Lol about the World Cup final.....Don't worry, there are lots of sports restaurants/bars in Niagara Falls (both sides of the border) that carry the game, so if he's in the area, I don't think your husband would miss such...

Happy travels to you too on your way back to Canada.....

Nevertheless..I'll make a note that you're available for the July 11 weekend....

The 18 or 25 works better for me. Family in from out of state July 2 until the 12

Sdw-I hope you enjoy time with your visiting out-of-state family in July....You're luck to have family over for the summer.

Nevertheless, I'll make a note that you're available for the July 18 and 25 weekends...

I personally prefer July 11 or July 18....So that's my note....

Ok..So 2 votes for July 11, 2 votes for July 18, 1 vote for July 25....

The next person who votes and can attend on that date gets to decide on which date we meet...:)

Then we'll arrange for more details....And discuss further then...

Let's make this meet-up into a reality!

July 18 would probably work for Yvo and I, too, as we have to be in Toronto the day before for a birthday party, and can try to catch the meetup on our way back through to Rochester.

Actually, she says now that not doing both the same weekend would be better. So the 11th or the 25th would be best.

Sdw-Ok..No problem, I'll put you down for the 11th....Though you mentioned about timing, what times (morning, afternoon, evening) would work best for you on that date?

Actually, she says now that not doing both the same weekend would be better. So the 11th or the 25th would be best.

Pauley-It's best not to rush things anyways, so it's probably better to meet separately for the meetup and separately for the birthday party. Lol..And yeah, the drive to Toronto can be brutal...So you might want to have more time for that too.

No problem...I'll put you down for the 11th and 25th.....

I think we could manage the 11th or the 18th.

Julez-Nice to see you back on the Canada forum! Welcome! And yes, you're invited too (lol..no need to be Canadian to attend...All are welcomed!)

No problem...I'll put you down for the 11th and the 18th too..

Ok..By the looks of things....July 11th seems to work the best for most people....Majority rules..lol....

So how about this:

We meet on Sunday July 11th....(but have July 18th as a 'bad weather' date, just in case....)

What time of the day do you all prefer...morning or afternoon or evening?

We can meet at Niagara Falls State Park on the NYS USA side, as that is a convenient location for everyone on both sides of the border to meet in, and it is a place where we'll all probably have a good time there....Is this location ok with everyone too?

If we all agree...Then I'll post the final details on a separate post here on VJ....

Feel free to post any other thoughts/ideas/suggestions/etc. too.

All VJers and their families/friends are welcomed to attend! :)

Let's make this VJ meet-up into a reality in July! :)
