Palin was largely the reason that McCain did so piss poor in the presidential election. There are valid reasons for not thinking Obama was really the right man for the job and many people would have voted McCain because of them (including me, if I had been eligible to vote by the way) but then he chose Palin as his running mate. That has to be the most misguided decision he has ever made. It made him look like a light weight and Obama reaped the rewards. Yes, there were other factors obviously, but the swing voters, the ones that matter, really they swung away from the monstrosity that is Ms Palin and yet you Danno, still don't get it

I think McCain was thinking with his #######. Actually, I don't. I think he misguidedly thought he needed to boost his numbers with the Republican base, rather than worry about the independents. That was such a poor decision though, that he lost a lot of credibility to me. Unless he actually thought Palin would appeal to independents? Could he be that misguided?

I know of quite a few Rupublicans who were solid McCain supporters who felt that he let everyone down by his choice. I still don't understand it, I thought that he was going to pick Christine Whitman. Hell, I even thought for a while that he was going to pick the Goldwater Girl herself, Hillary.
