Hi,

new to the forum, & did a search but didn't find anything that helped.

I'm planning to submit the K1 application for my finace in April, after I visit her. Right now I'm gathering all the paperwork for the application, and I'm concerned about the tax return - especially the 2009 return.

I've been filing my 1040's & 1040a's by e-file for the last 8 years. Are pdf printouts of the 1040's acceptable copies? Could the 2009 tax transcript from the IRS be accepted instead?

Also, my 2009 income was very low since my hours were reduced to part-time. I've been with my company for 12 years, and my income for '07 & '08 were slightly lower than my other years.

Would sending 5 years of tax transcript support the application process?

thanks in advance

It depends on the embassy probably, but tax return transcripts are always a good bet

tax transcripts are the best way to go and they are free from the IRS, for two people your income for 2009 needs to be $18,213, anything lower then this, you would need a co-sponsor, the consulate cares about present and future income, whatever happen in the past is used to see how long you can keep a job thats about it, most important is income for 2009. 3 previous years of tax transcripts + your most current (2009) income tax return WITH W2 is good enough, and send at least 6 months of pay stubs.

You have some time - don't need 'tax stuff' for I-134 on day of filing the I-129f.

SHE needs it on interview day at Guangzhou - so you have some time - anywhere from 2 to 14 months, before this is an issue.

re: 134 -

1. it's submitted on interview day, so you have some time, ya?

2. study the I-864 rules on assets and cash - see if you have assets and cash to qualify in the computation. If you do, show them on the I-134.

3. if, after all of your study and review, you feel you are still 'under the cut', then suggest you get a co-sponser for the I-134.

Good Luck !
