Hello,

It is time to start thinking about the next steps ...

What is in the "Packet 3"? What kind of information or forms will be required? Can I prepare something in advance? When will I get it - as soon as the embassy gets the case or with heavy delays?`

And what is in the "Packet 4"?

How about "Packet 1" and "Packet 2"?

Thank you,

M

I don't know if there are such things as Packets 1 and 2.

I don't know whether K3s get the same contents in their packets, though. But, well, let's try it.

Here, I answered this question on another thread: packet 3 and 4 http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...st&p=325917

for more: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23055

Read through the thread and if you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Michigan,

The packet system for immigration processing is history. The present visa application package and interview notification package for the K visas reasonably resemble the old packets 3 and 4, so those terms have carried on. (For the immigrant visas, since some of the materials now come from the NVC before the case even gets to the consulate, you'll sometimes hear reference to a 'packet 3.5')

As for what's in packets 3 and 4, that can vary from consulate to consulate, but between the two packets the visa applicant will ultimately get all of the forms and information sheets required to apply for the visa. Check the web pages of the consulate you will be dealing with - more and more consulates are making these materials available online.

Do a search on "Frankfurt"... I've been involved with several related threads and am also preparing for David's packet 3...

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
