I just spoke with my fiance this morning and we've been trying to get her original vaccination paper from when she was little but she is having a hard time finding where to get it from. Today she finally found some hospital where they started giving her vaccines and telling her Hepatitis A is a 2 series shot which she has to go back in a month and Hepatitis B has to be done again in 6 months...I'm like #######! Are these people idiots? Our visa is only good for like another couple of months IF THAT!! She called the embassy to ask what to do if she has no vaccinations sheet and they said it's not their problem. :crying:

What the hell is going on?

Your timeline & post are unclear...

Do you have an interview appointment with the USEM or has she already completed the interview?

Visa isn't issued until after the USEM Interview and the medical has to be completed before the interview.

Vaccinations should be handled as part of the Medical Exam. It might be an extra fee (in the Philippines it is included in the fee) but they should fill any voids in her vaccination requirements. In the case of shots that are a series she will get the first at the medical and be expected to follow-up here in the US.

For my case, I don't need to do Hepatitis A & B because the doctor that the embassy appointed says my age is not appropriate but I have to get :

1) MMR (Because I couldn't find my old records) and I have get 2 times (because I haven't get chicken pox) which is before the interview and next 3 months.

2) Human Papillomavirus (HPV) for 3 times - before the interview, next 3 months and next 6 months (I'll get that vaccine in US).

3) Varicella.

I'm suppose to get Td (Primary Series) but Malaysia doesn't have that vaccine. I guess I'm lucky then.

I think what they required actually very important in a long term.

Since you only have a couple of months to do that, maybe you should ask the embassy whether is it ok to get the 1st shot of vaccines (Hepatitis A&B) in ur fiancee country and then the 2nd shot in US? My doctor let me do that.

I agree about the unclear part - it appears that she has not gone for the medical

in which case any vaccinations she got as a child may be moot - vaccinations

will be assigned by the examining doctor as being either necessary or not.

Tell her to get the medical, period. Your timeline would indicate that she

has not done that yet.

hi!

I had my vaccination records from my family doctor.(Medicul de familie). Try there. When she is going to the medical exam in Bucharest she will get another vaccination records. After the marriage she will have another medical exam in the Us. They can finish the vaccination here.

Thank you for all the responses. Her family doctor (she has a couple now because she moved) said they lost it so she has to track down her vaccinations to the town where she went to kindergarden in and she will try her highschool because they should have a record of her old vaccinations.

Lily has already started a couple of vaccinations (Hepatitis ones and another, forgot the name) and looks like we might be able to get her old vaccinations from the different places mentioned above and then go to her current family doctor to put it all together.

What a headache :(
