What if you got a HC plan forced on you that you didnt want? WHAT IF?

What if you could choose a plan that suited your circumstance?

PLEASE just start thinking independently!

Some people can't choose any plans because of their "preexisting conditions" and the high cost. Some people don't get any health care insurance because they live dangerously like having a car without car insurance. Do you think the government shouldn't have car insurance be mandatory? Would you be okay if the government told you needed to get HC insurance but you could pick it?

I have been hospitalized and I paid cash. That's what I do. Even with insurance, you can go bankrupt, but without it, you get a big discount. That's an industry secret few know. Health care w/o insurance saves money.

You only get that because of the compassion of doctors who want to get some of their money rather than making you go bankrupt. How is that considered right? You're playing on their sympathies because you are "sick" and need care. I know you probably don't see it that way because you're saving money. But it's still wrong. Because the hospital is swallowing up the cost of that care. If your hospital bill was originally $10k and you only pay $5k, I'm still getting paid my salary to take care of you as a nurse and those hospital supplies are still being used and that doctor's surgery is still being done while still getting paid his salary. You're basically living off the hospital's charity and I thought conservatives were about self-sustainability.

How about paying for the meds you need *yourself*, out of pocket, instead of expecting the government or someone else to pick up the tab?

What a concept!

How about she couldn't afford to pay for them because she didn't have a job at that point and she didn't know how bad her condition was going to be that she could try to just pay for some meds...she didn't know what condition she had because she wasn't evaluated by a doctor. Because she didn't want to show up at her next job with a preexisting condition.

...

le sigh. Somebody said something to the effect of, "Those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still"

Um. I may be unlucky, but I were to be charged more if I paid in cash than my insurance co would be charged by the same doc for the same treatment.

So true. That's why I don't have health insurance.

Could not agree more!

it is called..."the Camel's nose under the tent" Supporters of government control (which is what this was about...not health care) do not care about anything except getting the framework of control established. That is all. They will change it and modify it forever more. They do not care what it says or does NOW, they only need to establish existence. Like SS and income tax, they will change it, morph it, corrupt it as they see fit ONCE it is established. They DO NOT CARE what the plan says, they just want A PLAN so they can get started.
