In Mexico the term length is 6 years. The difference is you are only allowed 1 chance; no 2 terms allowed!

Great. Let's copy Mexico.

I prwefer Canada's system. One election at least every 5 years, the PM can stay for as long as the people elect him (imagine THAT in a free society, seems like a freedom we USED to have) and any time they are unhappy with him they can toss him out with a new election. Make the politicians be in fear of thier jobs at every moment and maybe we will get something out of them.

And NO political adverstisements until 30 days before the elcetion and Congress is CLOSED for the 30 day election cycle.

Ya, the 'sessions' of the house and senate (dem lawmakers ) were much shorter, also - as most were landowners, getting in the crops were important to them, then.

I tell ya what else doesn't play - trying to make 6 years presidency term because of an ISSUE.

Bubba, if that issue needs 6 years to be 'resolved' ? You (ya, YOU ) need to refactor it.

Less is More and in this case, less government is more appealing.

Limit congressional sessions to 90 days per year. These need to be part time jobs. Pro-rate the annual salary accordingly. Require a special session each year of 60 days to repeal ONLY ineffective laws, no new laws to be passed during this time ONLY remove the laws proven to be nothing more than expensive wet dreams.

Remove any and all term limits from any office. If we ever get a good one, at least give us the option to keep who we want!
