How do you do that? Really? The OP article is about something really very creepy and somehow you manage to turn it around to be a 'black' problem.

It's only "creepy" because you and some others want to see it that way.

It's absolutely not a Black Problem.

the problem is, Some race based associations are fine.... and others aren't.

The difference between you and I IS, I CAN completely understand why a group of Black Laywers, cops, sports figures etc might want to have a race bases org or group.

I just think everyone should have this same opportunity.

"You lot"?? I never said that I agreed with a whites-only league, but I'm not going to automatically discount everthing the man says nor assume the most evil motives. Sure, his idea is probably not the best solution, but the "ghetto" behaviours he is talking about are nothing to be proud of.

The reason we have BET and the NAACP is because white racists in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries chose to subject blacks to centuries of prejudice and discrimination.

There is nothing to be proud of about bringing guns to sporting events, no, I could not agree more. However, to suggest that this is exclusively as a result of black street culture invading professional basket ball and that white kids must have their own league in order to be able to play in safety is absolutely reprehensible, on every level.

Lewis said he wants to emphasize fundamental basketball instead of "street-ball" played by "people of color." He pointed out recent incidents in the NBA, including Gilbert Arenas' indefinite suspension after bringing guns into the Washington Wizards locker room, as examples of fans' dissatisfaction with the way current professional sports are run.

"Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?" he said. "That's the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction."

When Vinnie Jones bit a guy's ear off in a soccer game years ago, the blame started and ended with him. Same thing with Eric Cantona's flying kick on a fan in the stands.

Noone tried to make a case that premier football players were too "thuggish" and that a new league of gentlemen's soccer was required.

Exactly, the player that makes the mistake should pay the penalty, not that player and everyone who shares some cultural similarities. Unbelievable. I have been to basketball games, and it was a great experience, and I didn't see anyone behaving in the way described - I have to say, I don't believe anything this guy is putting forward to justify this league.

Irish immigrants were subjected to much of the same discrimination, but they got over it. The NAACP should have been history by now.

They didn't and they don't, but the inference is that the Irish were pilloried in America but they didn't need all Irish organizations in order to get back into the mainstream so why should black people? It's a very naive view, but hey, you expect something more sophisticated?

Well its certainly wrong to suggest that all persecuted groups were persecuted equally.

The Civil Rights era of the 60's is still within living memory - that ought to say something.
