Hello, can anyone tell me the duration of the k1 interview in Manila? I haven't found any topics about this - however a while back I think I found a post where someone stated that they were done with the interview by 1p.m. My fiancee is scheduled on Wednesday at 7a.m. Can anyone share their experiences about how long it took. Also does she need to stay any longer after the interview before leaving Manila?

Hi James and Angie! I suspect you will receive a variety of answers and inconsistencies as no two cases are the same. We were Vietnam but I can offer our experience. My fiancee appointment was 9am but that does not mean alot at the VN consulate. In VN thay take a number when they enter and they are called by the number (not necessarily in order). In VN, if your approved at interview you can typically pick up your visa in one week. I am sure you will get lots of replies more specific from others who went through Manilla. Best Wishes!!!

The place is a ghost town by noon. The actual interview itself is maybe 10 minutes. If she is late getting back talking to you don't worry. It is not bad news. Just no phone, and maybe trying to find a cafe or such...

If she has the pink slip. She fills out the air21 delivery form. Then she is free to go home, and wait. No reason to wait in Manila.

She should get there a bit early and fall in line, first come first served. All appt.s are at 7 a.m. as far as I know.

Vicky was there at 5:45 and out by 10 a.m. Actual interview was 10-15 minutes.

There's also the CFO seminar to do, but she'll need to return to one of those offices to get the visa stamped after she received it, so it can be done soon before she flies out, or she can do the seminar and return for the stamp later.

Only other thing to do in Manila is shopping. I don't know where you live in the US by your profile, but if she will need some cold-weather clothes? Much cheaper there than here.

I arrived in USEM at 6AM and the whole process took only 3 and a half hours. I was out from the embassy at around 9:30AM. It's still on case to case basis, some consulates are very meticulous about the documents, although there are some who will only ask few questions and will already give a verdict after 3-5 minutes or less.

USEM Reviews This link might help you. Before I left for Manila, I read several experiences applicable to our case, it boosted my confidence knowing the possible questions that will be raised by the consul, anticipating the process flow that will have to be followed, and that lots of applicants were approved despite certain issues.

i hope your fiancee's interview went well...and took the average of 3 hrs or less (tehe whole process from getting in line outside to actual interview)

Just be there early with ALL necessary documents and you're good to go. I can say the pre-screener asked more questions and took 30 mins than the CO who took just 10 mins of my time. Relax, you'll be fine...

Your girl might want to complete the CFO seminar and stamp in Manila. She won't want to go to the airport without it. ;)

Can't get the stamp on the Visa until you have the actual visa though. You can do the seminar and get the certificate that you completed it, but you still need to return for them to stamp or sticker the physical visa.
