DCF Japan - there are barely any appointment dates available!

hi there, I am doing dcf through Tokyo and when I went on the US embassy site to schedule an appointment, they only had one day that was available this whole month which was already marked as booked, and on 2 days in February. For the months ahead, there are no options at all to click to make an appointment. Does anyone know if this is a glitch? or does the US embassy in tokyo really only have a few dates available per month?

I was looking at how full the interviews were going to be in the near future and couldn't even get on the site. I will either file in the next couple of months or wait till August/September because I don't really need to go back till April 2011, but I heard it could take up to a year so I thought earlier is better. I am interested in hearing any replies.

Well this is terrible news. We wanted to make an appointment for June. We are planning on leaving in October. Thanks for letting us know ahead of time. We have just checked and there is nothing available for June. Only Monday's in March. I guess we are getting married and doing this full speed ahead.

10-25-07: Met in Tokyo at a party

11-01-07: I like you. Do you like me? Let's get together!

04-??-08: Moved in together

09-??-08: He proposed!

03-08-10: Got married in Tokyo at the ward office (just the two of us)

03-22-10: I-130 appointment in Tokyo

04-14-10: I-130 cleared, received letter in mail

06-07-10: Final interview... Approved!

06-08-10: CR-1 Visa and mysterious brown envelope of power received... they are fast!

09-30-10: POE at LAX. That official sure was rude!

10-20-10: Received Permanent Residency card (w/conditions).

10-30-10: Wedding in front of family and friends in Los Angeles

11-15-10: Moved to San Francisco

07-??-12: Applied to remove conditions on green card

12-27-12: Moved to Los Angeles

03-07-13: ROC approved!

Sorry to high jack this thread but I am guessing you guys are further along in the process- I just booked my appointment to have my Affidavit for Marriage notarized. Does my fiance need to have one too? We filled out one for me and the same version is Japanese. My fiance is British though so I don't know if he needs a separate one in English?

Are you talking about the marriage process in Japan?

If so, yes, he also needs "a certificate of no impediment" from the British embassy in Japan.

Sorry, yes, I'm talking about the marriage process. I made an appointment to have my Affidavit of Marriage notarized by the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo but my question is does he ALSO need an Affidavit of Marriage notarized since he is not of Japanese nationality?

He is separately going to the British Embassy to give his Notice Of Marriage and then getting his certificate of no impediment. I am assuming they don't need to see my Affidavit of Marriage?

Affidavit of Marriage is the same as a Certificate of No Impediment :) just different wording

When I got married back in 07 my husband (USC) got a Affidavit of Marriage from the US consulate and I (Aussie citizen) got a Certificate of No Impediment from the Aussie Consulate. Took both to the ward office and it was a-ok
