Hi and morning to everyone. Hope everyone's weekend was great! My question is in Ciudad Juarez Mexico, do we have to wait on package 3 and what about getting an interview. Our approval notice says its only valid until April 2010 so we want to get everything done before then.

Anyone's help is very much appreciated!

Thanks and best wishes to everyone on this journey!

Hi,

the CJ embassy website says K-1 applicants get an open appointment letter. I had heard that was the benefit of going K-1 at CJ.

The whole packet 3 is available online at the CJ website. I have also heard that people don't always get their packets. As far as I know, you just need to be in touch with the embassy to make sure that you can come any time you want (really convenient) and then you show up and get the open appointment letter there at the embassy, go to the medical, and then your appointment. I'm sorry I don't know the hours when you have to show up in the day for those appointments, but I know it's early.

April 19, 2010 - NOA1 (documents received at Mexico City Embassy)

April 20, 2010 - NOA2 (received notice April 28, 2010, mailed April 27)

May 3, 2010 - Packet 3 sent (received May 27, 2010)

May 9, 2010 - I emailed them using the inquiry form asking for my case number

May 17, 2010 - received case number and link to Packet 3 by email

May 18, 2010 - sent Packet 3 to Ciudad Juarez

May 28, 2010 - called Ciudad Juarez to see if we had an appointment yet, they said wait 6-8 weeks :(

May 30, 2010 - I return to the US

June 8, 2010 - called and found out appointment date

June 16, 2010 - received Packet 4

July 6, 2010 - interview - Approved!

July 7, 2010 - pick up visa at DHL and POE to activate

July 29, 2010 - welcome letter received

August 1, 2010 - my husband comes home to me

August 13, 2010 - received Green Card

September 28, 2010 - never received Social Security Card, had to apply for it, arrived Sept. 28

Just make sure they are ready for you to come. I saw on your timeline that the embassy already has your paperwork, so it should be fine but I would check just to be sure.

Good luck and I look forward to hearing about your interview soon!

Hi, I want to do a personal comment.

I agree with Lia, the packages 3 and 4 don´t always get. I can talk from experience with the embassy in Bogota, when you get the noa2 you can track the package by dhl website and this way know when the embassy got the case and then you can send the package 3 via email, all this is a shorcut and works, after this is just wait for the interview date.

regards

Thanks for the info. I figured that he wouldn't get the package because he lives way out in the middle of nowhere, however we put on the application his mailing address in hopes that he'll be able to get it at the post office. But we've been waiting for about 3 weeks now. I think that we're going to wait until the beginning of next week and then I'm going to send the stuff I got from the computer off.

Thanks for your comment!
