My fiance tried to make the consulate appointment for the interview (Guayaquil) today and was told that she couldn't make the consulate appointment before completing her medical examination and obtaining the results. She has her medical scheduled for next week, but I wanted her to schedule the consulate appointment in 2-3 weeks so I could purchase my ticket far enough in advance so I could be with her for the interview. Is it normal to require the completion of medical before allowing the scheduling of the appointment?

I was thinking I could have her call back a second time and state that she wants to speak to a supervisor, just try again, or wait until 72 hours after her interview and try again (I am not patient). Fortunately she estimates we still have only used 2 of our minutes on our phone card.

Yes, the results of the medical are required at the interview. The embassies all have their own protocols.

I was trying to ask are the results of the medical required before SCHEDULING the interview? I know you need the medical completed before attending the interview.

According to the packet 4 posted on the Consulate website ( https://guayaquil.cms.getusinfo.com/uploads...ctober-2009.pdf ) the exam is required to be complete before making the appointment.

Check with TBoneTx. He is the resource for all things Guayaquil
