NVC Case Completed Before receiving RFE Documents

Good morning,

I have petitioned for my mother. I have received an email (RFE) for original documents around Nov 24. I have shipped the paperwork on dec 16 from overseas and the package was delivered yesterday, 4-Jan-2010. The strange thing is that case has been completed on Dec 29. Did anyone have similar experience?

NVC completed the case before receiving RFE original documents, marriage, birth certificates.

I am thinking to wait 2 days and let them log the documents then call to make sure that they send all originals to the embassy with other paperwork. I was sure that they would never complete the case unless they receive the requested required documents.

You have to call them and check ASAp. Maybe its just an error or something. But you have to call so that you know what happened.

I did call, and case is completed. Usually I would of thought that they would not complete unless they have RFE documents. Rep told me that the interview date has not been set and once they enter originals to system they will send all documents to embassy. She said they do not send document to embassy until interview date has been scheduled. She said call back next week. We will see. If they do not send originals with the other package I will contact the embassy and let them know what happened. Embassy I believe knows how hard is to get other copy originals in some countries, so I hope it works out.
