Hi All:

I received following response to my service request

"The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required investigation into your background remains open.

Until the background investigation is complete, we cannot move forward on your case. These background checks are required to be completed on all applicants who apply for the immigration benefits you are seeking. We will make every effort to make a decision on this case as soon as the background checks are complete. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact customer service at the number provided below."

I have following questions, if you have some more info about these:

1)Does that mean that USCIS has not examined the facts of my case?

2)Is this purely a criminal background check like—finger print, name check, Interagency Border Inspection Services (IBIS) check?

Also wondering if someone has received a similar kind of response to their service request? My understanding is that USCIS sent all these responses based on typical templates, but not based on individual case.

I am wondering if this is a standard letter, but one thing you can do is call the FBI and see if your biometrics have been cleared or not yet.... this is the only background check they do.

Just want to share how my interview went. My wife and i left Knoxville,Tn for a six hours drive to Memphis on sunday. My Interview is on teusday, but we left on sunday so that we could get there and she will have monday to rest, since she is five months pregnant and have a swollen foot.

We arrived at the USCIS office by 7:3oam and my interview appointment was supposed to be by 8:00am,but we were ushered into the room for interview by 7:40am. We spent just three minutes for the interview. The Officer ask for my address, date of birth, mine and my wife drivers licensce and my green card and my wife birth certificate.

The officer explained that they were not supposed to invite us for an interview but we did change of address twice and that was why they invited us and he then asked why we changed addresses twice. I explained to him that my wife job moved us back to Knoxville from Roanoke. He told me that i am approved and that he will hold on to my expired green card. I requested for an I-551 stamp and he gave me a note to get it on my way out.

He told me that my green card should arrive in the mail within two months.

I was just wondering whether you explained why you moved in your I 751 application (or did you move after you filed the application)? Just trying to find out whether we should expect an interview. We filed at the end of April, had biometrics done in June, and are still waiting.

We also moved twice during our conditional residency period (we moved to a different state because we both changed jobs and then within the state because we bought a new house). We explained briefly in the application why we moved and included job offers letters and documents related to the new house (among other things). I was just wondering whether you explained why you moved in your I 751 application (or did you move after you filed the application)? Just trying to find out whether we should expect an interview. We filed at the end of April, had biometrics done in June, and are still waiting.

We stayed in a temporal apartment when we moved and i changed my address with them. When we bought a house and move into our house, i changed my address again. I did not hear anything for five months before i sent an email to vermont and get my congress man involved and they finally replied to my email and told me that my case has been transfered to their local office in Memphis. You might not get an interview since you already explained to them with prove of offer of employment.

I filled my petition in early january and we moved by the end of february because of my wife job, so i did not include any explanation about that when i filled. I called the customer service 1800 number to explain to them my situation before i filled and they told me that i should be fine as long as i changed my address when i move. We stayed in a temporal apartment when we moved and i changed my address with them. When we bought a house and move into our house, i changed my address again. I did not hear anything for five months before i sent an email to vermont and get my congress man involved and they finally replied to my email and told me that my case has been transfered to their local office in Memphis. You might not get an interview since you already explained to them with prove of offer of employment.

Thanks for your reply. We'll wait and see what happens next. Hopefully something will happen before the six months anniversary of our application, but if not, we'll put in a service request.

we got my husband gc approved yesterday after the long wait accompaniedwith worries.

ididnt sent affidavits from people, and i thought it was the cause, the las four months were about putting service request each month, hope this info can give hooe fur those who has been waiting for more than six months
