Greetings all,

I have fedex-overnighted I-485 and I-130 applications for my wife ( alien ) on Dec 22 and just noticed that both checks

( $1,010 and $355 ) were cashed on 12/31. However none of NOA received yet. I have triple checked all applications thoroughly before sending out and pretty sure that there is no mis-haps but still anxious even after checks are cashed.

I think I know what I should expect going forward from other filer's progress report but I still have couple of questions to assure my knowledge. Please review my comments below and confirm based on your knowledge.

1. Should I consider cashed checks as the proof of passing initial review ?

2. Once NOA is received ( which Im expecting to arrive in few days ? ), I should use the NOA as my wife's status after her I-94 expires on Jan 7 which is 3 days later ? Should I worry that her I-94 expires soon without getting hard copy evidence of AOS file pending?

3. I-131 and I-765 were also filed concurrently with the I-485 and curious when my wife can travel outside the country or will be able to get the driver license?

4. Once I-765 is approved , my wife can just bring the evidence and apply for the social security card right?

5. Please enlighten me about the I-761 form which I should file before second anniversary of our marriage.

Is this something USCIS notify us or should we mark on the calendar now and make sure not to miss it?

I think that's about it and thank you all in advance for the tips.

Happy new year !

There has not been a buiness day since your check was deposited. Why would you expect to receive a notice already? The check is for the processing fee. It does not indicate anything other than the fee was correct and that the form was filled in properly.

Your wife can use the Advance Parole (I-131) to re-enter the country. She should wait until it is received before leaving the US.

When she receives the Employment Authorization (I-765) she can obtain her Social Security card and legally begin working.

The Removal of Conditions (I-751) can be filed 90 days before the second anniversary of being granted the green card (the issue date that will be shown on her card), not your marriage. The USCIS may or may not send you notification. Once the green card is received then go ahead and mark the date on your calendar.
