My wife english is marginal at best. She has been studying hard and has increased her basic vocabulary to stringing four or five words into a fragmented sentence. We have limited problems communicating and when there is a problem or a complex sentence in either language we use the trusty translator. Her interview is January 19 and I am becoming concerned with the VO and language difference. I have read many posts on candle of love and most have been negative. Than I wonder if the standards are different for a CR1 vs K type visa. Any comments and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Your wife can ask for a Chinese language interviewer. If you and her can communicate effectively then don't sweat it. Standards are not different.

The main point is, can you and her understand each other?

Thank you both for the positive and encouraging comments. I am going to Guangzhou Monday to see what I need to do about the evolution letter I have written and if I should bring copies of all the orignals that I have. I did not think that this would be so stressful. i.e. have I prepared and have everything in place for my wife.

NVC Electronic Filing, right?

She is REQUIRED to bring ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS that were scanned in and sent out electronically (during NVC Processing) to the Interview, on Interview Day.

IMO, it's always good to bring in that EOR , have it notarized, at GUZ during ACS appointment.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
