hey all....wish u all the best for your visa journey

my visa interview has been scheduled on 08 jan 2010 at new delhi and I've a few queries....appreciate anyone who helps :

1. I 've got my appointment letter as a pdf file in my e-mail from NVC directly. I checked the delhi embassy site and it says that I need to the appointment letter with me on the day of the interview...so I just take a printout of the NVC email or does one receive separate email/mail from the embassy as well?

2. I had submitted all my original documents to NVC so what do I submit at VFS office?..only photocopy of my passport & photograph? or nothing at all ? The embassy site asks one to submit evidence of marriage (photographs ,phone bills, email, cards etc) also at VFS (?) (but I always thought people carry this stuff with themselves to the ?interview...kindly someone clarify

3. Is one allowed to take CD's/DVD's ..pen drives to the interview (mine is at new Delhi)? are there any other prohibited items?

i most eagerly wait for any responses and sincerely wish success to all of you :)

I'm not a pro but I will give you answer base on my opinion:

1. I 've got my appointment letter as a pdf file in my e-mail from NVC directly. I checked the delhi embassy site and it says that I need to the appointment letter with me on the day of the interview...so I just take a printout of the NVC email or does one receive separate email/mail from the embassy as well?

Print out the email & bring it on your interview.

Bring a photocopy of all the original documents you sent, just in case. Bring all your evidence on your interview.

3. Is one allowed to take CD's/DVD's ..pen drives to the interview (mine is at new Delhi)? are there any other prohibited items?

Just bring with you only the documents to be sure. Electronics are not allowed, food & water may also be prohibited.

1. Besides the NVC letter, the consulate also sends a letter to your address. If you have not received it, you can email them to send you a PDF copy

and you can print it.

2. The VFS asks us to do as the packet 4 says, which is to submit the evidence to the VFS. However, I see postings here where VFS told them to carry the evidence to the interview.

3. As far as I know, No.

Good luck !

We have our interview on Jan 15th & are doing the same thing.

1) Taking print outs of the email. Did not receive anything in mail, all documents were emailed to us.

2) Taking all documents to the VSF office & copies of all documents & provide whichever ones are required at that stage. Although, from what I've researched they will most probably not ask for any because all the originals are at the embassy already.

3) no CD's / DVD's etc allowed, taking photographs from different places / occassions.

Good luck!

Hey thanks for your reply..it was helpful...I now plan to just pay the vfs fees and get the receipt w/o having to send any documents again...after a little research I did on my own...the new delhi embassy website states clearly that if one has submitted documents to the NVC one might just pay the VFS charges just one day prior to the interview...

I wish you success for your interview :)

Hi Sanu,

My wife also got her appointment letter in email as a PDF. She took the print out and got her medical done.

She talked with an agent and they said that there is no need for an appointment letter in mail. The one that came in email is fine for both the medical and the interview.

Best of Luck on the interview and everything!
