The only person who seriously advised me not to marry was my sister. The only reason she did it was because she was close friends with my ex-fiance and he was trying to reconcile with me when he heard that I got engaged. As any loving sister would do, I told her to shove it. Now that she has gotten to know my husband, she tells me quite frequently about how wonderful he is and that I was wise by not listening to her :lol:

I work with a lot of Filipinas from Manila area and they were very vocal about me dating girl from Mindanao. It was somewhat humorous because they did not have any real concept of island other being place of Muslims and Communists. Most called the island Davao.
