Did I suggest they don't influence people? Clearly, they do, or they would indeed be broke, but what do they influence people to do? Anything useful to themselves or anyone else apart from the coffers of the evengelist? I think not. It's quackery at its worst. However, free country, people are free to be fools.

Not all of 'em are rubbing their hands together while laughing a sinister laugh...they really believe they are doing God's work.

I don't agree. There is nothing on offer with any of these televangelists beyond profit from themselves. While I am not a great one for religion per se, I don't believe that your average minstery in a brick and mortar building is a scam. However, those shmoozers on tv? Get real, they don't offer anyone anything but they want everything from the viewer. It's not funny, it's not ethical and it's not spiritual, period.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Parsley has nothing on the Reverends Bob Tilton or Benny Hinn. I used to watch them and couldn't help but laugh at how they could do their acts on regular basis with a straight face. The healings, speaking in tongues, the crazy hairdos, the neverending pleas for money based on Bible verses. When I first saw them on TV, I thought it was a comedy sketch.

Religious informercials.

I don't know. Parsely's political endorsement was sought after by prominent politicians. He's got a lot of political clout.

This guy is a fruitcake basket head wack job religious right wing idiot!

The Columbus Dispatch reports that Parsley is saying his ministry is under a "demonically inspired financial attack." Here's the clip from his television program, "Breakthrough":

The proximate cause of Parsley's trouble, it seems, is a $3 million deficit for the fourth quarter and a $3.1 million legal settlement over a 2006 incident in which a two-year-old child in a Parsley-affiliated daycare center was spanked so hard that his "buttocks and legs were covered with welts and abrasions":

The boy, then 2, said he was spanked with a "knife" by a substitute teacher. His parents, Michael and Lacey Faieta, believe it was a ruler.... The Faietas said Parsley refused to meet personally with them and that the church did not apologize or take accountability for the beating.... Mr. Faieta said he and his wife were "disgusted" and "saddened" by Parsley's words.

The devil works in mysterious ways.
