Hello all!

I search this site before posting this question. I have a girlfriend from Ethiopia, we are almost sure we want to get married but I'd like her to visit for a couple of weeks to make sure that we we are making the right decisions. I do not want to file for a K-1 Visa, I was told that a B-2 Visa was the one I should apply for. Does anyone have any experince applying for a B-2 Visa? Thanks in advance.

Basically the person who will be using the visa has to apply for it. They apply in their own country at their us embassy, go for an interview and either get approved or not.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

The medical condition may be real but I think this kind of visa is only given where

the case is a dire one. The subsequent application for a K-1 or other kind of

family-based visa may raise some eyebrows in the USCIS.

This is clearly not a good scenario for someone thinking to bring in a spouse or

prospective spouse. If it was I think it would be more common.

If you need more time together it would be easier for the OP to fly to Addis and

spend some quality time (more than 2 weeks to be sure).

So you are saying that it would be easier for me to go to Addis? I wanted to bring her to the states because she has never been here and I wanted to make sure that she would be up for the change. But if its easier for me to go to Addis, then I guess I'll have to.
