The previous message after the interview was "On December 14, We mailed you a notice rthat we had registered this customer's new residence status"", now this is the message that I get:

Post-Decision Activity

We reopened this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS on December 15, 2009, and are now reviewing our earlier decision. We also mailed you a notice describing the next steps in the process. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Our review should be completed within 30 days. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you.

It means what it says, they reopend your case and are reviewing the desicion they made. They must have changed their minds or found something at the interview that flagged it.

I would call about this.

I honestly don't think it is trivial :crying: .... I was wondering if I was already approved at the interview (when they had all my documents for months so they can study them, passed biometrics and all that) what can be different from myself? It doesn't make any sense. What a way to play to one's mind... I'll have to stress over this again and wait for the letter to see what is this about.

Thanks for your wishes, I was wondering if anyone else has gotten a message like this?

That is unusual, I've never seen that message before.

Looking at your timeline, it looks like they reopened it the day after they told you it was approved at the interview. What may have happened is that they actually needed to do some extra Administrative Processing, but somebody screwed up and accidentally prematurely approved it. Administrative processing after an interview and prior to approval is actually quite common, and not, in itself, anything to worry about.

Administrative processing is just additional background and security checks. It doesn't seem to cause problems for the majority of people: it just delays things.

God, please watch over We Got 2's AOS file and guide it and ensure that it gets approved promptly, and above all give We Got 2 a feeling of peace over the whole process, give them wisdom, peace and patience as they try to follow this up with USCIS tomorrow. In Jesus' Name we pray, amen.

HeatDeath thanks for your words... I didn't call USCIS because I was so frustrated that my husband and I decided to wait (because on the interview we were given a letter stating that both the I130 and the I485 were approved), so if by Jan 3rd we haven't receive any GC, welcome letter or any letter issued by then we'll make an infopass appoinment...

The bad side of all this? Well, I googled the first 2 lines of that message and most of the people who got it was because their I130's and I485's were denied and/or their cases closed (some of them without even knowing). Can that be my case? Did anyone at USCIS screw up my info online and posted the wrong message? Maybe we're worrying over nothing and everything will be fine, but it kills the spirit the "not knowing" part :( Who knows! All I can say is that this journey most of the times is grueling... However, We're not giving up, just taking some time off to put my ideas in order and have a nice Xmas for the kids (who don't deserve a stress-filled enviroment) :star:

We're puzzled to see this message online, because at the interview I asked the officer why sometimes there's no synch/updates between the webpage and their offices and she said (and I quote): "Don't let yourself go by what you see on our webpage online. I have your complete file here with me and everything looks ok"... I totally forgot to mention this on my first post and the mind may play tricks on oneself when so many emotions are freed at once.

The status online on the I130 still reads: Post-Decision Activity

On December 14, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice..

Now I'm thinking that if she spoke with such authority, she must know her stuff and I'm just gonna wait for everything to fall into place. I recently got a job in a security sensitive enviroment and the FBI just did a background check on me last week (along with HS), since I've been thru this before (when I did my bio for this case)... I'm gonna switch my "positive mode" button ON and I will enjoy the last days of this year

Thanks for your prayers, God Bless you, and your family (F)

Ok, here's the update on our case...

Last saturday we got a letter saying that our I130 was approved but that unfortunately at this time there's no visa number that can be given to your relative. As soon as one becomes available your relative can apply for a I485 to Adjust Status"

Duuuuhhhh, but I485 was filed along with the I130 :bonk:

So yesterday we recieved a 'Welcome to the United States' and that I was going to get the 2 year Conditional Resident card  Ok, I'm officially freaked out :help:

We called USCIS and one of the CS guys tranferred us to a Supervisor who informed us that the case was closed and reopened (the words were "they were going to deny the case, then they reopened again, but just disregard any notice/message/e-mail or text information you'll get telling you that your case is being investigated/reviewed because the IO approved you on the spot"...

And that was it.... :unsure::unsure::unsure:

Now we can get on with our lives :dance::dance::dance:

Thanks to all of you who prayed and sent us good vibes throughout all this "messy mes" :)
