my fiance is in ciudad juarez now and was interviewed on last thursday 12/10/09. He was told by the consular officer that he was approved and was given a sheet of paper and told to take it to the DHL. He did and was told it would be a few days. Is he really approved? he has been calling DHL and the visa has not arrived. why is it taking so long or is the process not finished would he have to go back? help!!! im worried

Unfurtunately DHL process is not the best ... sometimes takes 3 week days.

If the Consular told him that was approved do not worry, keep checking updates on DHL web site with your tracking number.

Is it a K-1 visa? My SO interviewed on a Thursday as well and didn't receive the visa until the following Monday. If the CO told you, you were approved then you have nothing to worry about. Also, they would have not sent you to DHL if you were not approved. Just hang in there I know the waiting sucks.

Did your fiance wait in juarez to pick it up personally or can the fiance return to the city where he lives to have it delivered there?

yes he is there for a k1 visa and is still in ciudad juarez waiting.

he said there was another guy there for the same thing and they told him he was approved and when he went to dhl it stated he had to go back to the consulate. the guy went back went through another interview and was told he had to come back in 3 months he was under investigation. i don't know if this person was telling my fiance the truth but this does not sound right. my fiance is just now waiting on dhl, but now is scared this could happen to him.

There is no home delivered service, you need to stay in Juarez until you get it ... is very important check your personal information on your visa (name, lastnames, passport number, date of birth) and in case something is wrong you must go back to the consulate.

Never heard of that before on a K-1 visa, don't worry just remember every single case is different.

Have your fiance been in US before?

Illegally?
