Im not sure how far it is, but my plan is to jump on the tube at kingcross station and get off at oxford circus and walk from there.. its probably a 15 min journey on the tube and about the same walking to the embassy from oxford circus.. i dont know the exact time.. google says walking time is 40mins..

You could change at oxford circus and get the tube to bond street which is about the closest tube station but its hardly worth bothering in my opinion..

We got took the circle line from kings cross to baker street then took something to bond street. It was a right pain!

Hey guys!! We got our interview date as well, WAAAAAY quicker than we anticipated (thank goodness)!!! And it is also June 8th, but at 9 AM.

My fiance only put "pending visa issuance" for the travel and wedding dates. He sent back his forms on April 12th, and our interview date was assigned today, 16 days later! Crazy quick as far as I can tell!

I've been sharing the news all day with anyone who will listen!! Woooooooo!!!

Yay! Congratulations. Our petition should have reached the Embassy my now, so we're just waiting for packet 3 to come so we can send everything back and get an interview date. It's getting exciting!!

I know most people don't want to hear this but I'll have to say it anyway, it's soooo much easier to get a mini cab, especially if you want to make sure you are on time. You can totally arrange for one to pick you up at the tube station most convenient to you (depending on where you are coming from)and they can take you straight to the embassy. Anyway, just a suggestion.

Hey, thanks!! Good to see you in here!! You know, you can speed things up a little bit by calling the Department of State before your P3 arrives - the number is 202 663 1225. I think it's 1 and 4 to get a live person now.

Anyway, call them and find out if P3 was issued by the embassy. As soon as they say it has been issued, you can send your P3 docs in, even if you haven't gotten P3 in the mail.

Good luck!!

As for places to stay, my fiance is strongly considering Lincoln house - http://www.lincoln-house-hotel.co.uk/ or maybe Boston Court Hotel.

It's $59 pounds for the night before his interview at Lincoln House, and it's walking distance from the embassy, apparently. I'm not very familiar with London, but it seems close, based on Nich's map - http://www.click2map.com/maps/nichnick/Embassy_London
