:crying: Hello everyone I am new to this site and I am sorry that I waited so long to take part it really is a great site ... Gavin and I met while he was vacationing out here in Southern California from Derry in Northern Ireland... I met the love of my life, my future husband Gavin. I was visiting my cousin in Sunset Beach, CA. We were our way to lunch walking down Pacific Coast Highway when in the distance I saw a very attractive man walking in my direction. He was tall, handsome, and had the most amazing blue eyes that just stole my heart. As we drew closer to each other, our eyes met, we both smiled at one another and in that instant, I was hooked. Little did I know he and my cousin had already met down on the beach because Gavin was vacationing from Ireland. As we approached one another, my cousin and Gavin greeted each other and we (Gavin & I) were introduced.

Gavin asked if he could take me out for lunch or a drink sometime and I, standing in a trance attracted to his accent, said “sure that sounds good” and he told me to get his number from my cousin so I did. The next time I was in the area was on the eve of March 17th or early morning of St. Patrick’s Day at my cousin’s apartment. I decided to give Gavin a call and invite him over to hang out with me. He said “sure” and in about an hour he was there. We stayed up all night talking and laughing till around 7:00am and Gavin said reluctantly “I should be going home.” I however, did not want him to leave but respected his wishes and he called himself a cab that took him to a friend’s house, where he was staying, in Huntington Beach, CA. We both agreed that we wanted to see each other again and so we did. We were together every day thereafter and on countless nights.

On Friday the 10th of April, Easter weekend, I took Gavin up to Santa Maria, Oceano and Pismo Beach to meet my paternal grandmother, my two aunts, uncles, and cousins. We had an amazing time and all of my family fell in love with him. On our way home, Saturday the 11th, we stopped in Solvang, CA and went shopping and had so much fun exploring the town. Soon thereafter, we knew that we were in love and wanted to be together forever, so Gavin asked me to return home with him to Ireland so I could meet his family. I told him he would need to ask my mother’s permission out of respect for her, since my father was killed in a car accident in 2007, he agreed and she thankfully, said yes. I booked my flight for the same day as Gavin, however, I booked a cheaper flight and figured we could handle being apart for one day.

On May 5, 2009, I flew to Ireland and I cried almost the whole time and it pained me to be away from him, I missed him so much and couldn’t wait to be in his arms again. In Ireland, I met his mother, his father, his sister, his niece and nephew and a ton of his friends. We had the most amazing time and on our last day there May 11th 2009, Gavin took me up to Grianan Fort and proposed to me just after I made my three wishes. We told each other that we would wait two years until we were married so that we had plenty of time and we could save for a big wedding with my family and his in California.

The next day we were on our way back to California together because I had to return to school and he had to be there for the birth and baptism of his godson, until August, when he was planning to return home to Ireland. On our way however, Gavin encountered some issue with customs in Newark, NY and was refused entry into the U.S. and forced to return to Ireland. I had no idea what was happening, nor did I know why. All I know is the day after we were engaged, my fiancé, the love of my life, the best thing that has ever happened to me, was torn from my arms and we have not been together since. This is the longest we have ever been apart from each other and it has been one of the hardest things I have ever been through in my life. I know that I want him in my life, for the rest of my life, by my side, and I will do anything to make it happen...

***After May 12th***

Three weeks later i got back on a plane and I spent the summer with Gavin in Ireland until i had to return August 11th which was the hardest thing to do again...leave without him... 4 days later my grandmother died and 20 days after that my grandfather died. I have gone through too much without gavin and just want him home as soon as possible.. I wished and prayed before christmas but now it doesn't look like that is happening =( :crying:

We filed in June with CSC and the I-129f was received June 24, 2009... Apparently it is still under initial review??? WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG? WHAT IS GOING ON? When I called the USCIS they said it was received June 24 and is still processing... I called on November 25th which was when it fell outside of the 5- month processing time estimation and they said that the CSC was still processing cases received June 16th so they were behind but I am looking at everything on this site now... wishing I hadn't gotten a lawyer and realizing that something just isnt right?

Any Advice? COmments Questions?

Hi, I know it can be very frustrating. Just hang in there. Like the previous VJer suggested you can contact your Congressman. In the mean time, continue to visit VJ and see what others have done to prepare for their SO's interview at the Embassy in Ireland and start getting things together ie, bank letter, financial records, employment letter, proof of ongoing relationship, etc. Best wishes to you on your journey!

My suspicion is that the previous POE denial is what is the cause for the length of time. Does he know the actual reason why they denied him entry?

OT: My hubby stays next door in Co Donegal, driven thru derry before, actually on my proposal day, he proposed at the giants causeway.

Maybe you can go visit him? like was stated, def continue keeping all evidence
