I am about to apply for the citizenship and i might have an issue. I have 2 passports from 2 differnt countries and the spelling of my last name is not exact. For example, one is ###A and the other one is ###EA. This is because the translation of my last name could be done in more than one way i guess. So, do i have a problem with this and do i need to correct one of the two-if i can-?? Also, I have not left the US since I came 7 years ago, so do I have to show my passports--I am thinking i must regardless but would like to be sure.

Also, I have 4 minor trafic violations, 2 new and 2 old will i have a problem with these too?

I appreciate your advise

thanks

Bring the passports and explain just the way you did here about the differences in the name. The spellings look close enough that it should be apparent they are for the same person. I know that for Ukrainian citizens with Ukrainian and Russian passports this is often a problem since the countries spell the same names differently. I am sure USCIS is aware that this happens as well.

Regarding the traffic violations, USCIS says that minor traffic violations are not a problem unless they involve alcohol or drugs. Be sure to list them and bring along any paperwork you have in relationship to them, then let USCIS decide if they are a problem or not. They shouldn't be, but without having more details I don't want to say that they definitely won't be. You will meet face to face with an Immigration Officer so you will have a chance to explain or give further information.

Good luck at your interview.
