rescheduleing a I-485 Inital Interview

Hi,

My wife just received her appointment to appear for our initial interview for her I-485 (green card) adjustment of status meeting. I have to work the day it is scheduled and was wondering if anyone has any experience rescheduling their appointments? if i try to reschedule will they give me some date 3 months later or will i be able to choose a date a week or so after the scheduled appointment.

Yes, they very well could give you a date several weeks or months out. Take the day off work.

Yes, they very well could give you a date several weeks or months out. Take the day off work.

If you request a date you will not get to choose. The only other way is to make an infopass appointment, go to the local office and speak to them about re-scheduling. I suggest just taking the day off work.
