Yes, with depressed Democratic turnout and limited white flight from the Democratic Party in 2012, he won't need the Hispanic vote.

No matter how depressed voters get, nothing would galvanize them more than an election where one of the candidates is a bigot.

Nothing animates the right-wing vote more than being called a bigot. They yell "race card race card" and assume all allegations are untrue and they are the ones being victimized. In the upside-down world of wingnuts, being called out for being a bigot is the ultimate in bigotry.
