So Medicare was proven to be actually more costly and inefficient than private insurance awhile back so we should follow that and go complete health care for all? Too funny.

Too funny that you got it all wrong. What is proven is that Medicare provides better service, less bureaucracy and better cost containment than PHI. If you have evidence to the contrary, please feel free to share it here.

Its already bankrupt and they're cutting 500 billion dollars from it. No democrat has denied it.

It isn't but is set to be if the status quo remains. This is what the GOP advocates - the status quo. The only cuts that should happen are waste and fraud - there's plenty of it. Recent report had that number at 40+ billion / year. Add it up and you have your 500 billion in savings overa decade. No cuts in benefits have been proposed despite the false claims by the GOP to the contrary.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that only 1% of Medicare cuts will come from eliminating fraud, waste and abuse. Thats available for all to see..

It also says that 500 billion dollars will be cut from medicare whether it is explicitly "proposed" or not.

Medicare gets all its funding from limited tax dollars. The baby boom of the 50's is now reaching retirement age and the number of people on Medicare will increase significantly. There will have to be some adjustments to funding to keep it working.

If a private insurance company was limited by how much it could raise its rates like Medicare, Most insurance companies would have gone out of business a long time ago.

I guess you're proving my point as well. But this is the whole point of the government option.

The only point there is about the whole situation is that the enrolment in Medicare will increase significantly, but there are not really any plans to change the funding of it. There is no point to be made about public vs private. It doesn't exist, except maybe in your cynical view of the world.

Try reading my posts again. Maybe you'll get it.

And it isn't my "cynical view" its the view of the Congressional Budget Office.

The CBO simply stated that Medicare is underfunded. You are trying to twist this into some private vs public debate.

I never said I like wars. I hear you saying that bad decisions deserve more bad decisions, no?

All decisions others make on your behalf are bad if you don't approve of them. But they might be good for someone else.

Wars must be good for someone else, too. Still, that doesn't make this kind of health care reform good for anyone. It's easy to tell you don't know what's in this bill or you wouldn't be so hot for it.

So it should be unanimous that all American's should be against it because you are? And it wouldn't benefit anyone? The bill will never pass the way it is written. It will be debated for months and a few hundred changes will be made. Maybe if the GOP would actually participate, it would be a good compromise for all. But heaven forbid they do anything of that nature. I guess it's better to do nothing, then complain about it later.
