You are too easy to beat. Guns are not illegal in Australia. Furthermore, the gun buy back started in 1997. It obviously takes years to get them off the streets. Not rocket science.

Well gosh, I would've never seen that one coming! What you've failed to answer for me, over the course of all these threads is why the homicide rate (all homicides, not just homicides by firearm) didn't drop once the ban or buyback or whatever scheme it was called took effect.

We could ban cars here in the U.S. and I'm 100% sure fatalities by auto accident would go down astronomically. However, if we banned guns, I'm pretty sure our homicide rate would stay pretty consistent. It may "fluctuate" while the guns were being bought back, but I'm guessing folks would probably start killing each other with cars or something else.

What tells you that American Muslims are in sympathy with militant groups, but revile the NOI? I don't know where that info is coming from.

I'm not sure who those OT folks are. I tend to stay away from threads about terrorist groups because too many stupid things are said there by people with their minds made up. I try not to hold grudges against ignorance, so best not to be tempted.

I have enormous respect for Sofiyya's knowledge of her faith and its laws. It has allowed me to know more and be able to be more of a friend to my Muslim friends. and also sparkled my interest in listening more and speaking less.

Aside from that, she is still a conservative b1tch and we shall enjoy butting heads....

I don't think I would give up if people of my religion (or any religion, for that matter) were being singled-out by the government to have their Rights violated. I think I'd be pretty quick to point out the fact that "those people" are in no way shape or form connected to my religion.

Islam is a violent religion, Muslims are out to kill Christians, etc. Some people do not argue with your vehemence unfortunately. I think that errors should always be corrected. Some people have made whole careers out of bashing various groups and they are the ones that get the lion's share of the attention. Rights violation is another topic but juries are made up of people who watch TV and get one side of the story so you may have a valid point.

That is so true. I'm tired of how often Muslim haters are cited as experts on my faith on radio or tv shows, and their venomous websites being touted as legitimate places to learn the "truth" about Islam and Muslims. It's harder than ever to find an actual practicing Muslim discussing Islam in the media these days. The likes of Robert Spencer, Brigette Gabriel and Daniel Pipes get loads of recognition. My local airwaves are full of talking heads urging listeners to indulge in hating the likes of me and others who embrace Islam. It's pitiful, but totally in line with the dumbing down and polarization of society into tribal groups that are only interested in what they already know.
