Did zidane ever discose what it was that materazzi supposedly said to him to provoke that headbutt?

Wasn't it something 'racial' about his mother? Italian calcio isn't well known for its racial tolerance.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

yeah he called his sister a ####### or something like that

still stupid like after so many years on the field they don't know those techniques are used to mess with the player's concentration

it was stupid from both but more from him, he should had known better

That is a very common technique in ALL sports at virtually every level, High School and above. Seems quite sad that a player of his caliber tarnished his legacy with such a n00b move.

Hey soccer nuts, any advice on getting soccer online for little to no sponduliks? Not for me, my son loves the game and I keep meaning to do something about this.

Love justin.tv, I just hate how they quite frequently get their feed cut on big events like boxing matches.

On another note, FIFA has declared that there will be NO replay of the game. However, the Irish Federation is calling for a replay none the less. I just love how Henry is completely unapologetic. A quote from the NY Times story about Henry the #######:

“I will be honest, it was a hand ball. But I’m not the ref,” Henry said. “I played it. The ref allowed it. That’s a question you should ask him.”

Asked if he regretted the handball, he replied: “No, no, we’re qualified.”

yeah i mean that's not the job of the player, I'll die before I see a player stop the game just because his ball went out the field.

He was dishonest on the first place but the idiot refs were supposed to call on that. If there is doubt, do as in american football, go to the damn video screen and check before giving the goal to somebody

Technology is there, why not use it? idiots... both, them and FIFA for allowing this... :ranting:

The part that irks me is that when asked if he felt they didn't deserve to win, henry's response was that they did deserve it and that they were qualified to the next round. He's a BY caliber douche. I can understand why they dont' use video replay, it will disrupt the flow of the game. There is however precedent in using video, however the circumstances surrounding the uzbek/bahrain game in which bahrain loss was invalidated was highly suspect.
