Can anyone clear this up?? i've looked at previous threads on this, and people seem to say that 2 american sized passport photos are needed.

is this true? the information on the embassy website says i need 3.

i went to a very surreal place on oxford street, up about 5 flights of stairs, to this little room where i got 2 photos for £6. it took literally less than 2 minutes to have the photos taken, developed and pay for them! i was very impressed :) but anyway, should i have got 3??

It depends on what you are doing and what type of visa I suppose. We are doing a CR1 and we needed 4 in total...one for the Bio, one for the Dr., and two to take with us to the interview.

It does say 3 color photographs now. I think you should have 3.

Our interview was in October, and we only needed 2, but things have been changing a lot in London lately.

Its TWO. The third photograph is for the medical. And Knightsbridge actually is happy with the smaller UK size if you have that. They have to cut down the larger US sized to fit on the form is what the receptionist told us.

Agreed re:Knightsbridge. The girl I spoke to today mentioned that I needed a photo for my medical, and when I asked whether they wanted US or UK size, she said that UK was preferred.

Can anyone tell me what the two photos are for, re: the interview? Are they for the DS-156? Because I sent those in already with the DS-156 and IV-15... will I need another two photos?

Generally people bring in two and don't send the photos in with the DS forms...

I'd bring in two to be on the safe side; what if they lost the photos and you had a few weeks waiting for them to issue the passport?

Oh, I intend to. :) Better safe than sorry, right? In fact, I might bring more than two, seeing as the Embassy website says three. Does anyone know of a good place to get them, somewhere near Knightsbridge Doctors? I'm going for my medical on Monday, so it'd be a good time to get more photos before the interview - gives me leeway in case anything goes wrong with them.

I agree that back in October (before recent rule changes) when I went, it was 2 US-sized photos to the interview and one "we don't care if it's US or UK format" photos to the medical. Is it still?

The website currently says: "Three color photographs which meet Department of State specifications".

Anyone been to an interview lately?

IMHO, it would be better to be safe than sorry. If you don't need one, then toss it or use it with your AOS paperwork.

i wish i knew the name of this place on oxford street... as i remember it was almost opposite selfridges. on the other side of the road. its just a doorway with a sign, and you go up lots of stairs... there are quite a lot of places in that area that take them, i dont think you'll have a problem finding anywhere, but this particular place was the cheapest i found. others were in the region of £14 for 2, whereas this was £6.
