I was wondering how important the Foreign Country Police Clearance is in an interview (We've been trying for almost 5 weeks to obtain a Police Clearance from Singapore when it should have taken 2-3 and now it's interview time). The Police Clearance is in the mail, but it's tied up in Manila for another week, possibly 2.

The visit to Singapore happened 6-7 years ago. My question is, how important is this document during the interview? Will they deny her visa? Even though we will surrender the document to them when we receive it, will they delay visa processing? Will they make her attend another interview on a different day?

Even though my fiance and I were both confident at first about the interview, not having the Police Clearance in time is a little worrying to me.

It's important but, from what I've seen - worst case scenario, if it doesn't arrive in time for the interview, the consulate may very likely ask to see the document when it comes in and base their final decision on that.

Another question I forgot to post above....If the document is already processed and stuck in the mail, could the consular or another worker at the embassy call the Police Agency in Singapore and ask them what the results were? We have the phone number and the persons name who processed the application.

Just a guess but I don't think that would happen.
