Hello All, I am just new here and started reading your respective US citizenship interview experiences.

My husband died during my 2nd year of stay here in the USA. Therefore, the 3 years continuous married to an american citizen will no longer be applicable for me to apply for citizenship and now then will wait till I reach my 5th year which will commence late next year. My ques are:

1. If i will be interviewed, it is therefore my application is thru 5 yrs continuous stay and living in the USA and has nothing to do anymore with my deceased husband right?

2. If so, obviously, I will take with me all the pertinent documents to support my application for US citizenship like my BC, my children's BC's, his death certificate, my permanent resident card. What else should I be taking with me pertaining to documentation?

3. Do I have to file my citizenship at least 3 mos before my anniversary date (the day I arrived in the USA) or wait till I reach the complete 5 yrs of stay here?

Thanks a lot,
