Hi everyone,

I think the answer is yes but would like confirmation. Can my fiance come with me for my interview and if the answer is yes, is there anything that I need to do to get him into the embassy with me?

thanks

Amanda :)

Yes he can, but if you didn't put his name on the checklist, you need to call the extortion line, tell them you want to add your fiance to "the list" as attending the interview. They'll give you the email code, and then you email with his full name so they will let him in when the time comes. Then he'll just need to show his ID (US passport, typically) when he gets there.

I almost went to Nik's and that's what they had us do.

What checklist is this? Is that with packet 3 or 4?

The checklist you send in with (or after) your P3 documents. You download it along with your P3 stuff from the link. You check off all the forms that you downloaded, filled out and sent in, as well as stating that you've got your police cert, medical, etc. and all required documents. This is also where you write your intended travel and wedding dates.

If you have everything you need, you can send it back with your forms. If you're waiting on something, you can send in your forms first and then send the checklist to let them know you're ready for them to schedule interview.

I called the embassy this morning who passed me onto the visa place in Scotland. I called them and a nice young man told me that I Tony can attend my interview and that I don't need to email or put him on the list. As an american citizen sponsoring me he is entitled to enter his embassy whenever he wants.

I'm sort of happy that it's that straight forward but at the same time what if we get there and they won't let him in b/c he's not on the list....am probably being paranoid and worrying unecessarily but it's what I'm best at :)

...the plot thickens. Being paranoid pays off sometimes. Tony called DOS and was told that he was not allowed to come with me. He called a second time and was told the same thing. SO I called Scotland again and was told that he may attend but we need to email the embassy. I questioned the lady why I have been given conflicting answers and she didn't know why DOS said no or why I was told that I didn't need to email the embassy. I asked her if she was 100% certain so she decided to put me on hold while she double checked. Almost 13 pounds later she confirmed that I need to email the embassy and gave me the codes and reference number.

So now we are waiting for the embassy to respond before Tony books his ticket.

Why does life have to be so complicated???
