Hello everyone,

Yesterday I had an AOS interview. Everything went well as far as I assumed. But the officer said that our file was in San Francisco and could not give us any information until they receive the file from San Francisco. However, she said that if they don't receive the file, they will base the case on the interview we had. The interview went well and she said we had lots of proof and was even laughing at our silly pics we took :D

I don't know what to do or should I be doing something to expediate anything.

She did not stamp the passport but she did say that we will receive notification through the mail as to the result. I am so worried :crying:

Anyone experience this before :help:

Thanks everyone

It sounds pretty positive, but nobody can say for sure until you get the letter. I'm so sorry you are having to go through that. It's stressful enough having to go through the interview without any additional worries. I should think if your financial sponsor is sound (i.e. earns over the minimum), it won't be a problem. It seems to me that more applications are rejected because the sponsor doesn't earn enough than for any other reason, but I'm not an expert.

I don't think there's much you can do except wait - maybe someone else can advise? If it were me, I'd call the USCIS helpline and give them all the details and ask them if they knew anything. Also you can check case status online at the USCIS website. However, that website told me my case was still 'pending' a month after I'd received my green card, so I wouldn't rely on that alone!

I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks for your support and suggestions, it really helps. I have checked online and it keeps stating the same thing that it has received my RFE. wow. They really need to update their online info. Maybe if they did all of us won't call as much :)

I will definately contact them through the phone to hear whats going on.

Thanks again

Sounds like it all went well. It stinks that the file wasn't there so they could stamp the passport.

A follow up call next week couldn't hurt.

  • 2 weeks later...

I called customer service to hear about the status of our interview. The rep told me nothing is updated as of yet but she stated that she will complete a service request and gave me a referral number. It has been 2 weeks since the interview and nothing as of yet. This is becoming really stressing. If I don't receive any notification by this Friday, I will schedule an infopass appt.,Is this ok to do?
