Hi everyone,

Please respond if anyone knows, NVC accept Laminate copy of original document. My mother sent me her original birth certificate (Laminate copy). I have read somewhere before someone was saying nvc doesn't accept laminate copy.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to say that USCIS or NVC will not accept original certificates that have been laminated.. you will need to get replacement certificates.

i sent laminated original birth certificates and they accepted it without any problems

You must be the exception to the rule, I have seen many people over the years who have sent laminated certificates and they have not been accepted by USCIS or NVC and at some Embassies/Consulates.

I guess there is always a first, maybe they are changing their policy...

Hi Tay,

Regarding your comment on above discussion ........ can you please share those people's experience (share the links) where you have read that their BC and/or MC were not acceptable if certificates are LAMINATED.

Thank you ....... so much.

I think if your certificates are in good conditions, they will be accepted whether laminated or not. May be if they doubt some correction after issueing certificate and before lamination, they ask for another copy. This is my filling. Anyone to correct?
