Final NVC steps

Hey guys, I understand the basics of the process, but I'm hoping someone can help me understand a bit better.

I've sent off both our DS-230 and I-864 to NVC via Purolator and I see that both have been delivered successfully. So, how do you know when NVC begins processing them - is it just a matter of calling them every couple days to see? Or can you see anything online? Same thing - how do you know when it's case complete?

Also, I have been mailing my packages in, but last time I spoke with someone at NVC, they said any RFEs, etc would be emailed to me (that I wouldn't be receiving anything in the mail from this point forward). Does that mean that somewhere along the line I chose to do "electronic processing" (without knowing it)? Or is that just standard practice at this point?

There was no online NVC stuff when we did our visa, so i'm not all that familiar with it, but I will share what I do know.

This is the login area people speak about, for NVC

https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

Apparently if you get 'login failed' there that means your case is complete (or you can just call them).

As for your second question - no, that doesn't mean you have opted in for electronic processing - that's a whole other kettle of fish - it basically means submitting all your documents in electronic format - which I assume you didn't.

They (NVC) have just decided to send out email notifications.
