Okay, so I received an RFE today for my AOS. Naturally, I haven't received the letter yet but I imagine what it was is me not completing the vaccination supplement sheet by a civil surgeon (I just submitted the paper from the medical). So, my third installment of Gardasil was due 10/14/2009. Now, I'm in the US my SO has medicare health insurance (aka I'm screwed and can't use it lol) and I'm afraid they will make me do the 3rd shot. So my questions are:

1. Do you think I'll have to take the 3rd shot?

2. If so, what do you think is the cheapest way to get it done? I was thinking Planned Parenthood but unfortunately Maine apparently doesn't have one, and then there is the fear that that counts a means tested benefit.

HELP ME!!!

I-751 file: 11/07/11

NOA1 date: 11/10/11

Biometrics: 11/30/11

Approval: 08/17/12

Hold what you got and maintain.

Hi Beans!

Another VJ member in the Canada forum, starburst, recently submitted her the I-693 with her AOS package and only had the first HPV shot done, skipping the following 2. She ended up with an interview and it never came up. She was approved and issued a GC with just the first shot completed. Maybe you should PM her and ask her the details.

If you decide to get the last shot to be safe, do a google search for any local clinics in the area. Before I had health insurance I looked into this option, fearing I wouldn't have insurance in time, and I found a local clinic that administers vaccinations for a reasonable fee. I believe the HPV shots were $150, which is cheaper than I paid in Canada through my doctor.

i had my 693 done after i sent my aos in, i have only had one gardasil shot and when i got my papers filled out the dr signed it as completed. I havent gotten an RFE yet and my case is at CSC, its possible the dr may sign your papers as completed. They never even questioned me on getting the rest of them when I was at the Dr office.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thanks for letting me know what had happened with you. I'm going to try it and if push comes to shove I'll just have to put the charges on my credit card.

Well if you can file within the first 90 days or so after getting the visa you only need the first shot (can't finish due to the timing of the shots) so most ppl (including us) got by with it. Even embassy doctor told us it was up to us whether we finish the other two shots after getting to the u.s. I also just sent in the paper from the embassy and we got approved without probs so it just depends on who gets your case file. I think because your getting an rfe at this point you should just go ahead and finish the shots, because if you don't your looking at maybe another rfe and them sealing it all up again ect.

The company that makes the gardasil vaccine offers discounts to people who can't afford to have the shot done.. I am going for my 2nd one and it is only going to cost me 20 dollars. I don't know where you live in Maine but i found 3 planned parenthood places that offer the form to get the 20 dollar shot.
