I've been reading through different Government links and seem to be getting conflicting information.. so thought I would turn to the best source I have found so far.. VJ.

Can you apply for Advance Parole before doing AOS if it is not an emergencey situation?

Long story short.. we are "guesstimating" when our interview could possibly take place, based on others going to the same consulate, and it looks like my SO could be here sometime around February. Assuming this would happen, we plan to get married in May.. I have a possible business trip to his home country in June.. If we do AOS in May, we would obviously not have Advanced Parole by June..

Wondered if it is possible to apply for this at the time he arrives? From what I've read it does not look like this is a possibility, but some info has made it look like this could actually be done.

Any one done this?

05/13/2013 - Biometrics
08/19/2013 - Citizenship interview

09/18/2013 - Oath Cermony.

It's finally all over! He's a citizen :)

No not from a K-1 entry, it is the I-485 (AOS) that provides you with the the eligibility for the interim benefit of advance parole
